Which medical licensing exams do you plan to write to obtain residency placement?

I would like to hear the opinions of all Canadian MD / DO, Non-IMGs and IMGs alike.

It appears as if Canadian DO students have the most exams to write AND the most opportunities to match....CaRMS, US Match and AOA match!!!

For you info....
2012 match rates for IMGs into Canadian Residency positions appear to be just under 20%

2013 match rates for the US match can be viewed below

2012 match rates for the AOA match can be viewed here

I already hate myself a little bit for the effort it's taking me / going to take me to do the MCCE + all the USMLEs ... I can't even imagine the hardcore warriors that are gonna slap on the COMLEX in addition to that. That's just hardcore

MCCEE and USMLE. I'm pretty sure though that you need to write the NAC OSCE and the MCCQE Pt 1 to apply to Canada. MCCEE is not enough. All in all, a Canadian citizen CSA IMG who wants to apply to both Canada and the US will need to write 7 licensing exams

USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 2 CS, Step 3 (Step 3 to get H1B visa which most will want)
MCCEE, MCCQE Pt 1 and NAC OSCE

I think I might go with just USMLE and COMLEX, and practice in US.
