Evening all.

Long time lurker but first post so be gentle!

So my Step 2 CK is approaching, and having had an absolute car crash (191)on Step 1, I really need to raise my game if I'm going to get a decent residency.

75% of UWorld done at an average of about 60% based on just doing Kaplan and not looked at FA after it let me down so badly on Step 1 (Well, truth be told, I foolishly believed that FA alone would be enough to dominate.... 😱Yeah. I know. User error or what?)

Anyway, I'm about to do a NBME self assessment. I'm looking at the Form 4 and a couple of Q's to put to the group.

1. Is the expanded feedback worth an extra $10?

2. Is form 4 the best or are there any strong feelings about any of the others being better? I'd rather do a harder assessment than the real thing

Can I also say (just in case I get chastised for starting a new thread), there is so much absolute fear-mongering, panic driven rubbish written on other forums about the whole exam, that this forum stands out as being a place where common sense seems to reign!

So I really value your opinion, people.

Thanks in advance!
😀

I have a 63% average on UW which is 20% done. A month to go for the exam. I took NBME-4 with expanded feedback and did miserably (197). The extra $10 rate your system-wise performance as low, borderline or high. You also get to see which questions you did wrong but there are no right answers or explanations provided.

Thanks, Rara. I wouldn't get too despondent. A month is a long time in the world of MCQs. If I were you, I'd work systematically through each major topic on UWorld in the next few weeks and I'm sure your actual score will improve massively.

Keep going!
