K, I can only afford one NBME. So which one is the best one. I will take it 2-3 weeks before the exam.

i read from 2008 exam experience thread....the consensus seemed to be NBME Form 3

It's so funny that at my school, our "teaching and learning center" says that 3 is of the least value because most of the questions are experimental? They recommend starting with 2 and then choosing from 4, 5 and 6.

Just to clarify, the paper NBME that schools give is not one of the Forms 1-6 correct? Has anyone heard any reviews particularly about 5 or 6? I would think that since they are the most recently released they would be closer to the real deal.

The paper NBME (Comprehensive Basic Science Exam) my school gave was different from Form 1-6. It was about the same level of difficulty, but i only took Form 4. So someone else can help me to confirm this.

Yup, the CBSE is completely different.

I don't know why everyone gets all "which form to take" - they ALL correlate. If they didn't, they wouldn't have been released. It's more of a matter of when you take it in relation to how much studying you have done, how many questions you've done, etc.

I agree, I would think 5 or 6 would be MORE like the real thing because it's closer. It's like someone arguing that MCAT Form 1 is MORE correlative than the newest one (what do they have 10 or something out now?)

This whole thing probably started because a bunch of people took 3 before their test and it happened to correlate (no, really? I took a form a week out and I scored around the same thing? NOooooo)

I seriously doubt all these people commenting on which form is the "best" sat down and took Forms 1-6 in the 6 days before their exam.

MedLover, I was actually thinking that myself, so I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one... It just makes sense that they would all correlate, and the more recent ones would probably be better.

But, I have to admit that I am kinda confused. Where do you buy the NBME exams? The only thing I see on nbme.org is CBSSA, but you're saying that they're not the same thing....?

1) Go here: http://www.nbme.org/
2) Click the login on the right side under NSAS (NBME Self-Assessment Services)
3) On the left hand side, click on "New Account" and then go from there

Anyone Mac users have any difficulty running the NBME self-exams? I have yet to take one but was wondering if I should expect any technical difficulties as I have a Mac. Thanks.

I haven't had any problems with the self-exam. The only thing I've noticed is that in World, if you click out of the question box while reviewing, it sort of freezes up the window so you can't close it when you're done.

Thanks all, i suppose I will go with "they all correlate"...🙂 Seem to agree with medlover's view.

Good Luck

I have taken forms 1 and 2. I took 2 about a month ago and scored 214. I took 1 a few days ago and scored 231.

I didn't study that much between the two, so I would suggest that form 1 is much easier than form 2. I hope can say the same about the real test in June!

Partial...there are only 4 sections with 50 questions each and you can't review your answers.

It's a total scam and a waste of $45. I wouldn't give them a dime of my money.
