Gas Gangrene or Subacute bacterial endocarditis?
Aren't both of them (viridans S. and some clostridium species)part of normal flora?

Species that are part of the normal flora can lead to infection if the conditions are right. For example, in immunocompromised patients you could find opportunistic infections. If you get an open wound, normally harmless bacteria can get in and cause havoc.
