Step I which one should i use for Pharm??

what resource should i use for pharm?? i am thinking using either pharm card or pharm recall?? any suggestion??

also, anyone had used Lippincott's micro??

and i am using these books to study along w/ the course.. and later on to study for the step 1..

I've used Lippincott and Katzung and Trevor's Board Review. For the pharm shelf exam, Katzung and trevor was MUCH Better. If you notice, many of the figures in First Aid, which is the gold standard for usmle pharm, are from the katzung book. katzung is basically an extended version of first aid. i think lippincott is a waste. It's too general; not enough specific facts. Katzung covers more board relevant material in 2-3 pages than lippincott covers in 15-20. Incidentally, i've seen pharm cards too, and they are better than lippincott...but still not as good as katzung. You do have to know some metabolism questions. Katzung bolds the really important ones (like pseudocholinesterases, drugs associated with genetic differences in metabolism,etc.), while pharm cards don't really give you a hint as to what the essential ones are.

Kaplan Pharm is definetly the most complete for Step 1. Everything you'll need is there...

I used Lippincott.

I had both Lippincott and Pharm cards. Things started off well w/ me reading everything relevant in Lippincott and using the cards. As the year went on and my studying fell off I ended up just using the cards. If your class is halfway decent they should be sufficient.

it seems that Katzung and Trevor's Board Review is pretty popular.. i should include that book in the poll too.. does anyone know how to go back and change the options of the poll???

FA pharm is good enough. Supplement it with pharm cards and lippincotts if you need more info or wanna get stuff cleared up.
