Hey guys, I asked this question earlier(forgive me) I didn't have my MCAT scores, buy my GPA is 3.2 (both science and cumulative) from a state school and my MCAT is 20 9V 6P 5B (1st time) moderate EC's (volunteer in hospital 2 summers and use to tutor math) should I try the SMP route or go straight to carrib school?

For US MD: retake the MCAT, get better than 30, then do an SMP.
For US DO: retake the MCAT, get better than 27
For Carib: can't help you with that one, scares me silly

With a 3.2 GPA, I think a post-bacc would be your best bet. Why? Because the grades earn there will factor into your undergrad GPA, which is a stat that's looked to by AdComs. I agree, you will most definitely need to retake the MCAT. Now, as for which post-bacc program is best for you, I don't know. I did the UPenn post-bacc and liked the experience. The schedule's pretty flexible and classes are in the evenings once a week, so you have ample free time to spend however you chose. However, you might want to do a post-bac based on geography or price. That's where your own research comes into play.

I also agree with DrMidLife - if you retake the MCAT and score around average, you can get into DO programs without the need of a post-bacc.

Please don't apply to a Carib school.

I was thinking about Postbacc's with somewhat a strong linkage-whether MD or DO. I was thinking PCOM's Biomed program. which is in my neighborhood (or in my area)

With a 3.2 and a 20 MCAT - you aren't competitive for a top post-bac program
