Which programs are best for test practice

I took the DAT once abt 8 months ago and got 17 across the board. Unfortunately, I got stuck in some hard classes and did not think abt it. Now I am planning on taking it again in abt 1 month and I just discoverd this SDN forum.

My main concern is what programs I should use to increase my scores. before taking it the first time, I just read the Kaplan bluebook. Now running through these fourms, the consensus seems to be that the Crack DAT PAT is good to increase the score on PAT and QR sections. While, the destroyer is good to raise scores on science sections.

Did I get the right impression? and I also ran across people talking abt Achiever to help increase their test scores? which one is better to increase Science test scores?

Lastly, no one tlks abt raising scores on VR section. My VR is very poor, so any advice or tactics that I can use to raise my scores?

Kaplan + DAT Destroyer is good for the chemistries. Those 2 plus Cliffs AP Bio for biology. Not sure about qr. I don't even know what VR is...Do you mean verbal? That would be RC, for reading comprehension. I don't know any good resources for that either.
After you've studied a lot, you can move onto TopScore which simulates the test (and times you). Achiever does that but I don't recommend it. It's so much harder than anything else I've looked at. I haven't taken my DAT yet though, so take my advice for what it's worth.
Oh, and I definitely with you on Crack DAT PAT for the PAT.

Does anyone know the contents of the Destroyer and topscore? What will I be getting if I bought there material?

Destroyer will give you about 190 Orgo questions 190 Gchem questions and 330 Bio questions. Each question has a detailed explanation. Topscore has 3 full length practice tests.

Destroyer is designed to teach you through questions. It doesn't simulate the test though if that's what you want. Personally, I'd highly recommend destroyer and I know a lot of people here would too. I bought Topscore a couple days ago and will probably start using it on saturday.

To continue off this: Destroyer also has about 200 math questions. Most of them are ok for testing time. I can't say any study materials have good math questions though.

Oops I forgot about the math. Yeah, for the math just the more questions you do the better off you are.

DAT Achiever actually serves both to strengthen your background with their challenging questions, and simulating the DAT format on the screen. The earlier you start using the program, the better and closer it's going to benefit you with.

destroyer is the way to go, no question about it, know that book inside and out every which way
