Hi, I heard that many surgery programs scrambled last year, including general, ENT, etc. I was wondering if there was a list somewhere on which programs actually scrambled for students because they were not able to fill all of their spots.

On a related note, how do I find out: How many operations residents performed in a residency program... is there an official or unofficial web site? It seems that residents log their operations for when ACGME comes and "audits" the programs, but wouldn't these operation lists be useful in trying to figure out which training program is best for me? (I'm applying to surgery.)

Also, don't some programs lose their ACGME accreditation status and get put on probation? When I looked at the ACGME site, it said that you could look up which programs are on probation, but I couldn't find it anywhere on the site.

Thanks for any info. I just started reading this site, and the posters here have been very helpful. :)

You can find out which surgery programs did not fill in the 2001 match on the website: http://scutwork.com/Unfilled/surgery_cat.htm

I don't know where you can find resident procedure logs, but some programs give you this information when you interview there, or perhaps if you request it.

Hope this helps.
