Seattle versus Utah versus Kessler versus Ohio State.

These are my top 4 with U of Virginia close behind.

Anyone with any insight?

Anyone know how Utah's search for a department chair is going?

This whole rank list thing can make you rip your hair out second and third guessing yourself

Make a list:

Pros and cons of each program in YOUR eyes, and balance this against what you THINK you want including:

1) Your overall comfort level when interviewing with the entire program; granted, it's VERY hard to do after one day. But try.
2) Your current preference on inpatient v. outpatient if you've made your mind at this point in time
3) Presence or absence of fellowships in possible areas of interest
4) EMG/procedure experience
5) Call: in-house v. at-home
6) Resident/alumni satisfaction
7) Geography: Coasts v. Midwest

These are things I considered. The list will vary on what is important to you. Looking at the programs you listed, by reputation, Seattle has a good rep MSK & EMG but a tough but not overly-long inpatient. Kessler, per rumor, is more inpatient focused. tOSU similar to Seattle, with some ? re; procedure exposure. Not sure about Utah.

If anyone else has direct info it would be appreciated because mine is either heresay or dated.
