So ummm it's kinda embarassing to think back about it, but I didn't do much for the past month, and wasted alot of money on stupid stuff, I'm trying to cut off a couple of schools from:

Cornell
NYU
Stanford
UCLA
Yale

any suggestions?

I don't have a single interview yet other than my safety school, but I haven't been rejected yet except for possibly UCSD/UCSF/UNC/Vanderbilt.

On one hand I know I won't be able to afford more than ~6 interviews, especially if they are outside of midwest area, but on the otherhand, I might not even get 3 interviews.

I applied to UWash just for fun because my finger was itchy.

You could cut down the list based on ease of secondaries. The smartest thing to do though, would be to complete only the secondaries of the schools you'd most like to attend. You could even take it a step further and just fill out the ones from schools you'd most like to attend and feel you'd most likely receive an interview from. Easy as that.

Also, when do the above schools start giving out interviews? The schools I really wanna attend I should be hearing back from them soon regarding interview/rejection, so if the above 5 schools send out interviews late, I can just wait it out before submitting.

I thought of doing that, but I'd rate them as pretty much equal in difficulty other than stanford. UCLA looked daunting at first until I realized I could reuse alot of stuff, and 800 char is alot shorter than I thought

If all the secondaries are equal, just pick the schools you like best and would be most happy at.

cut NYU and Cornell bc they are my top choices 😉
