is there a list of some sort?

Residents all get paid about the same - $40K a year, more or less. The stipend goes up a bit each year, but is remarkably constant across the US.

I hear residents of New Hampshire and Mass. have a pretty high mean income. But since you're really interested in the big $$$ I'd stay away from Arkansas, Mississippi and the like.

Best of luck!

 🙄

if you're a resident in the army at Walter Reed in DC, you'll average about 65k per year over a four year program. Of course you'll also make half as much as civilian docs when you finish the residency program.

Our stipends and benefits are about the same as Partners'. PGY-1 salary is $44,600/yr, $1,000/yr book/conference allowance, free $100,000 life insurance, free health insurance (very good health insurance), free prescription drug coverage, etc.

Just keep in mind that the cost of living in the New England area is very expensive. $45,000 here might be equivalent to $37,000 in the South.

Mayo Clinic

PGY-1 $39,478
PGY-2 $41,141
PGY-3 $42,812
PGY-4 $44,680
PGY-5 $46,566
PGY-6 $48,430
PGY-7 $50,169
PGY-8 $51,979
PGY-9 $53,784

Lower, but Rochester is quite inexpensive...nice 3-bedroom home around $130k.

it also varies by nationality. In australia PGY1 earns about $60000 Australian and a PGY2 in the UK earns between 25000 and 35000 pounds...

Not true, the resident pay varies greatly across the U.S. PGY-1 in NYC pays over 40K/year, while in Tulsa, you look at 15% less.
