I'm currently in a post bacc program, and I will be applying to med school next cycle. Aside from my pre-med advisor, I haven't really sought out any advice from anyone about making myself a stronger applicant for med school. My advisor just gave me the basics that I've already heard (get good grades in my sciences, volunteer, shadow, ect.)
I've heard of pre meds that have scheduled meetings with faculty members at certain med schools (ex. Admissions counselors, office of diversity, deans of admission). Has anyone done this in order to get a better idea of what individual schools are looking for in their applicants?
I just want make sure I'm taking advantage of all the resources that are out there during this last year, before I apply. Thanks!
