I'm 19 and just starting college and have two options available to me at this point.
1. WVU my primary pick because of their 2+4 program, wait till spring to start because they aren't accepting anymore out of state students at this point. P
or...
2. Go to PSU for my first full year and slam out as many pre-reqs as I can during that year and a class or 2 in the summer. This college is also only 5 minutes from my house so is very convenient. Then transfer down to WVU the following year...this is actually what the WVU advisor told me to do.
#2 seems fine to me but I'm a little overwhelmed by all the pre-req's and rules the schools have. I don't know if I'll just be able to jump into WVU's 2+4 program after taking a year at PSU? If someone could answer that I'd be very greatful...the semi-competent admissions lady that called me really didn't know but she said she thinks it would be ok. I hope none of the class transfers will conflict either.
I also want to have another major. I know most people pick Bio to major in, but I wanted to get an AS or BA in Business/ Bus. Administration, will the schools look down on me if I have that for a major instead of a more medically related major? Business interests me and I would very much like to have my own bus. someday whether it be my own pharmacy or something else to have on top of my career (I hope to own a med. supply business.) On top of that a few people I've talked to say they like Pharmacy a lot but hated Bio research...I think I'll probably fit into that group of people. I just need some advice on this really, I'm just a little overwhelmed with all the choices and the advisors just confuse me more and even they are unsure about stuff half the time. I'd like to start my education on the right foot instead of having to correct a mistake so early in.
