With the merger, it sounds like every DO student will have to take it. Which school gives the best preparation/resources or curriculum schedule that gives good preparation time for the exam?

There isn’t even a list of DO school COMLEX averages. Majority of schools don’t post them

Here is RVU's Data granted it doesn't include the most recent classes which are rumored to be decently higher mid 220's step 1.

They do require all students to take step 1 usmle. Required to pass complex level 1, not required to pass step 1.
