Which school should I apply to?

Im graduating in december 07. I switched back to computer science which is fairly easy... My gpa at my school is 2.78 (116cr). I have a 3.3 at my previous school (30 cr.) I repeated Bio 1 and 2 and I got A's so that gpa is 4.0 (8cr)

I havent taken physics yet or done the mcat. I need to repeat organic chem 👎

Which schools would you guys recommend aside from the big 3. Also which schools would accept me without orgo, physics, or mcat

I am no expert or even close, but I think that the Top 3 all require Physics and Orgo...plus the MCAT at a few of them. In my humble opinion, finish the same classes needed to get into a US school and maybe do a post-bac program, look at DO schools, etc BEFORE you apply to a Carib school.

Or, finish up the classes you need and apply to US and Carib schools at the same time.

if i were you, i'd apply to everything at once... but make sure that your grades and scores are up to it. as always, finish all the requirements that the schools have, and regardless of whether or not the school requires you to take your MCAT before applying, take your MCAT before applying. there's no point in telling them that you're GOING to take the MCAT and then getting a crappy score and having yourself revoked.

and i agree... consider some DO schools before caribbean schools. not all DO or MD schools are worth going to (and the same goes for caribbean medical schools).

do the research on US medical schools. some of them fare worse than caribbean schools, but you just have to figure out which ones. those are probably the ones you want to stay away from. i call them the "shady" schools.

if you're going to apply to caribbean medical schools, i suggest sticking with SGU or Ross. nothing wrong with the other caribbean schools (because i know how people like to flame), but those are considered the 'top' caribbean schools.

i'm a first semester ross student and i have no qualms about going here, if that makes any difference. PM me if you have anymore questions. 🙂

Ive considered D.O. schools and I will apply to some. I have the thought in my mind that it would be a waste to apply to Amer med schools since my gpa would not be much higher than a 3.0, maybe a 3.1 or 3.2 if im lucky after this year.

Ok a 3.0 with a Good MCAT like 30 or better maybe DO, but you are reaching really, DO is getting even more competitive, the 2.8 get's in days are shrinking fast. Now its in the 3.2 to 3.5 range for DO. I do not want to crush you on this but due to GPA inflation at Uni's and the applicant pool having higher GPA's having a lower one keeps you out................................Even SGU...............

Im working on gettin this gpa up. I need to sit down and figure out whats my total overall gpa. I definately can get it up to a 3.0 or higher I still have a year left and its all computer classes. Im shooting for all a's nothing below a b+ for that matter.
