Can anyone help me finalize my school list. I want to apply to around 10-15 schools and don't want to waste any money on schools that really wouldn't work for me. I'm a CA resident and my stats are below:

Cumulative GPA: 3.51
BCP GPA: 3.25 👎

DAT: 20AA, 20TS, 21OC, 20GC, 18BIO, 19RC, 24QR, 22PAT

Volunteering:
350 hours general dentist
50 hours different general dentist

EC:
Marketing, Teaching, and Philanthropic organizations and affiliations

Work experience (not sure if i should list all of them as they are non relatable to the field):
Marketing intern, Library staff, Campus gym supervisor, Graphic designer

School List:
uop
ucsf
usc
western
lousiville
tufts
unlv
temple
mid-western il & az
oregon
asdoh
lecom
kentucky
michigan
nyu
bu
ucla

I'd vote Kentucky since I know Louisville is much more OOS friendly than Kentucky.

I'd say UCSF and UCLA are a longer shot, but not entirely out of the question. If you don't bomb the interview, you'll get in to a couple of those for sure. Good Luck!

Keep them all, if you get too many interviews then decide which ones to not go to.

awesome thanks! I'll try to remove some schools just cause I dont have the money to apply to that many..since most require secondary payments as well

If you are really trying to axe a few i would get rid of:

UK and Mich as they are not super OOS friendly. (Mich kinda is)
If you don't have 500+ hours of volunteering take off ASDOH.
I know you want to stay instate, but UOP, UCLA, and UCSF have higher DAT averages than yours.

Just note for Tufts you need a LOR from the dentist you shadowed. If you don't have that, I'd knock Tufts out of the list.

thanks for the reassurance. I will probably be removing UK and ASDOH from the list since I don't have 500+ community hours lol

Just note for Tufts you need a LOR from the dentist you shadowed. If you don't have that, I'd knock Tufts out of the list.

LOR from dentist + confirmation of I think 85 shadowing hours (I don't think this number is exact, but more or less. Look up Tufts requirement for exact hours) but the letter does need to specify hours.
