Hi!
Based on residency matches, intensity of classwork, student life, etc. which one would you choose?
AZCOM, CCOM, or ATSU
sorry, I know this is really vague, just trying to get an idea. Thanks!

I say CCOM. Good matches, city living compared to those two. I wouldn't go to ATSU even if its the first DO school. Its in the middle of nowhere and the only you have is 1 Walmart. I don't go out much, but thats just boring.

AZCOM and CCOM are going to have pretty comparable coursework. I'd go with the place you would most like to live. I, personally, didn't bother applying to CCOM because I hate the cold and living in that part of the country would be miserable for me. I cancelled my ATSU interview after my azcom acceptance for similar reasons.

Maybe you like seasons and large cities and don't mind the cold. In that case CCOM might be right for you. Or maybe you like small cities and so ATSU would be great. These are the kinds of questions you have to ask yourself.

The whole match list thing means very little in my opinion. All of these schools have had students do well.

Each school is going to give you a good education...just as people said, go with the school with the best location vs cost. Do not rely on match lists as it will not be indicitive of how the match will be once you match. Honestly...Do you think that the match list this year will show you how many people will match in certain specialties when you match??? That is four years out.

I got accepted at both AZCOM and CCOM. i didn't apply to the other school. I can tell you that both AZCOM and CCOM have good board scores and match lists. They both are expensive though. I decided on AZCOM for a couple of reasons..mainly it seemed like a better fit for me. The campus is great and my impression of the school was that they really supported the students more than CCOM seemed to. Also my CCOM interview wasn't the most comfortable and the students seemed very stressed. CCOM looks like it might have better rotation sites in chicago, but there are some decent ones in AZ it seems too. Also the weather was a big factor for me, the sun is fantastic in AZ and it's cold/snowy in Chicago! It was a hard decision, but either school is fantastic in my mind, and it really came down to a personal preference/feeling about the school.

good luck!🙂

My decision came down to location. I would also tell you to go where you feel comfortable. I was accepted to two large city schools and ATSU. I chose ATSU because I have always lived in a rural area, and thats where I would feel most comfortable.
