Okay... so is anybody else completely freaking out besides me?!
I am all ready to submit my app but... I'm still nervous about a few things... namely: schools and cost!

I mean, if I was rich, I would apply to every school but seeing as I'm not, I'm worried about making the right choices on the schools I've selected to apply. I wanna be smart about applying as I want to be able to save some money!

My ultimate worry is that the one's that I have chosen, I may not get accepted to!

The world always seems to work that way, right?

So, the way I've chosen to go, is to apply to the schools based on my OWN competitiveness against the average GPAs, DATs, etc. of each schools. I figured my better chances are going to be at places where I meet the academic averages and then use the essay and recommendations as a way to "stand out."

BUT WHAT IF I DON'T STAND OUT!!!

Am I worrying for nothing?! Did everyone else go through this?

Dear Freaked-out One,

"My advice to you is to start drinking heavily"-Animal House

Alright, once you've sobered up realize that EVERYONE who has applied has thought EXACTLY those same thoughts. First off, sticking out is good, but you don't have to be extraordinary. I must say besides my verbal acuity, dashing good looks, and stellar overall personality, I am extraordinarily average. Average par excellence, per se.

So now that you've hopefully had a good chuckle or two, what schools are you applying to? Honestly if you have questions you can PM me or IM me on aol instant messenger, and I'll be happy to help you. I applied to 8 schools (UF, Penn, HSDM, USC, UNC, Michigan, Columbia, and Pittsburgh) and got invites to all of them. Plus got a few other calls from other schools. I can tell you where you should definitely apply and where to definitely avoid from experience. Depending on GPA, DAT scores, and experience comes into play, but I don't know ANYONE who applied and didnt get an interview. (Besides Kaplan tried to get me to teach for them on the DAT and also gave me a breakdown on most of the schools). Hope this helps.

Very much had a good chuckle... and still considering picking up the bottle... but nonetheless STILL FREAKING OUT!

But, I am sure you are totally right... I am not alone...

Thanks for the support and I might have to take you up on the offer of IMing. Just please don't think I've become a stalker if it becomes a little excessive... I need all the advice I can get... and I'm pretty sure isn't Dr. Phil isn't Dr. Phil DDS!!

Thanks Shootin4Par!
