They are not providing incentives. Schools are doing this entirely of their own free will.I wonder if AAMC is paying/providing incentives for medical schools to offer VITA.

Yup! Beyond making it free, I really don't think any additional incentive would be necessary to entice any school that might be attracted to this. I also get the appeal -- a supposedly unbiased black box that will reduce thousands of applicants to hundreds, in order to allow the schools to sift through mountains of work effortlessly in order to focus on the most promising applicants without actually having to read all our applications. I'm just annoyed that years of hard work will come down to how a programmer told a machine how to interpret the tone of my voice, my body language, or my facial expressions, in addition to the substance of a few taped responses to written prompts under pressure.I wonder if AAMC is paying/providing incentives for medical schools to offer VITA. I'm astonished that some schools (like Upstate) now require CASPer, VITA, and a virtual MMI. Seriously, how many bull** "personality" tests do we need to take before schools are satisfied? They might as well hook us up to polygraphs now during interviews to make sure we're not lying/crazy.
Don't blame programmers like me 🙂Yup! Beyond making it free, I really don't think any additional incentive would be necessary to entice any school that might be attracted to this. I'm going to blame anyone who has their fingerprints on this!! It's the Machines replacing us!!!!Don't blame programmers like me 🙂
Yup.... I don't want to provide the data and I don't need to apply to the schools, but, if I want to apply to the schools then I need to provide the data. 🙂NEEDS vs WANTS 🙂

Are you applying this cycle? For now, at least one school has said they are not using scoring by the vendor, so you should be safe insofar that if anyone views the video at all, it will be a human, in which case you'll have the same shot as you would in a live or virtual interview. I also seriously doubt they would blatantly discriminate like that, so I have a feeling you'll actually be fine.Welp I do have a mild stutter so I'm looking forward to getting weeded out by a machine!
