Which schools do not favor URM?

How big is Alabama's class?

Edit: Alabama has a fairly large class size. 7/176 is not better than very many schools.

Arkansas: 9/167
Mississipi: 15/135
LSU-NO: 10/187
LSU-Shreveport: 6/118
Georgia: 18/230

I agree that last year's number of 7 isn't large. You picked the year that had a lower matriculation rate.

Anyway, my post was in response to the suggestion that Alabama was anti-URM, and that's not the case. A school can't force people to enroll. Just because numbers aren't what they'd like them to be does not equal "anti". Alabama's female numbers aren't what they'd like them to be, either, but the SOM isn't anti-female.

Here are the matriculated African American numbers at Alabama SOM for each year.

African Americans Matriculated each year
2007- 11
08 - 14
09 - 10
10 - 11
11 - 7

I think those numbers are better than a number of SOMs

I was too lazy to find the data for other schools in previous years. I got those numbers from MSAR. But Yea I agree that low urm numbers isn't necessarily a product of anti urm. I posted my guess earlier in this thread

And when my brother (who is black) applied with a 33 MCAT, he was denied due to "not having enough ties".

If he had applied to Alabama SOM he'd probably have been given a nice scholarship.
