Hello everyone,

I was looking at the Tufts requirements: Please wait... and they said they don't accept prerequisites from community colleges. I completed my high-school and associates together at once at a community college, and honestly thought it wouldn't be an issue, since its actually getting ahead than others. I have most of my eng/math/humanities credits from there, plus my bio 1&2. I've been taking other bio courses and all other sciences at Uni.

Are you aware of any other schools that may do this?

NYU doesn't like them. I think they accept only 4 or so credits. A lot more schools look down on it than those that officially say they don't accept it. I definitely feel like having gotten my AA at a CC has made schools decline to give me invites even when they say they accept 60 credits.

Get A’s and you’ll be fine. Doesn’t matter where. At the end of the day, if you’re getting A’s at a community college compared to someone pulling B’s at a university, your GPA will be a lot better. I applied to many dental schools this year and took 2 years at a community college. One of the dental schools said they didn’t accept CC credits on ADEA dental explorer, that wasn’t the case as they gave me an interview. For some schools, I’d say yes, it’s true that not all accept CC credits, but then again, I took a shot at one that said they didn’t and ended with that interview. Wouldn’t hurt at all to try.

some schools might have a problem and some may not, but do what's best for you.
if you think about it in the grand scheme of things, not everyone has the luxury, time, resources, and whatnot to always take classes at a 4-year.
adcoms understand this, so don't lose sleep over it.
of course, the more rigorous or recognizable a program is that historically produces solid students, the more adcoms will be inclined to and willing to accept.
but in the end, just perform, do well, and you'll be fine.

There are only a few schools that don't accept CC credits. I believe Boston and NYU were 2 of those but don't quote me on it. I also think it's all relative: Temple said they don't recommend CC credits but I got in and some friends did as well. I also know someone attending NYU who did 2 years at a CC.

To echo what others are saying, most schools accept CC credits, but almost all of them have a limit. The few that I've seen that do not accept CC credits are:
Creighton
BU
Tufts
Indiana

Others with greater restrictions:
Pitt: 30% total credits
NYU: Only 1 class/subject
OHSU: Only 32 credits (most other schools are 60)
UCLA has some as well, just not exactly sure what...

Indiana was the one that gave me an interview with 60 of my credits completed at CC.

They don't care as long as you got good grades

Only schools I am pretty sure they care are Boston and Tufts
