I was just wondering, which schools have the most/least amount of lab work (ex: making crowns, dentures, etc.)?

Tough question for predents to answer, tough even for dental students. Many of us first and second years dont know altogether that much about what we will end up having to do in our own school and know even less about other schools.

at my baylor interview, they told us the students do most of the lab work.. i also believe it was at temple where the students told us they do lots of lab work but the school was cutting down on this starting next year...correct me, if i'm mistaken...

correct. Lab work is a pain in the ass but good, gives you a strong foundation for everything else.

When were your interviews there? we may have had the same times?

Just curious, what's your reasoning behind asking this? Do your hand skills stink or are you looking at how much time you will be able to save by not having to do the lab work? Just curious.

Most of the dentists I've talked with said that lab work was a big waste of time while in school. They also said that in private practice very few dentists do their own lab work.

Good advice. You will soon find out in your 3rd and 4th year of dental school.
