Some DO schools certainly have better match lists than others based on quantity of people going into specialties, but is there any school out there that really appeals to you because they put out multiples of a certain specialty you want?

i should also mention, post why

No one school for me. If I had to pick a few, though, that I felt had people matching into diverse fields on a seemingly yearly basis, I'd pick:

DMU
PCOM
NYCOM
KCUMB

personally I like the match list of any school that accepts me.

wow nova is really high on primary care. If i go there does that mean im gonna be steered in that direction or is that the choice of many of their students?

DMU sends 60% of it's class into specialities (tops with the DO schools and better than numerous allopathic schools). So if you get into DMU, you will get a good chance at some very competitive places.👍

Not all schools are represented on that list.

Even so, with internal medicine the pathway to so many competitive and desirable specialties, including it in "primary care" match percentages makes the whole list absolutely worthless.

in the interest in not making a new thread.. can someone explain to me the diff between a traditional rotating match and a transitional year?

also in the nova match list, what does CMB in front of the specialty name mean?

not sure, but note that Nova's list is an internship match list and not a residency match list.

Im not sure how Nova compares to other schools in terms of primary care, but a school isnt going to steer you in any direction if you dont want to. Yes, you will get a lot of exposure to primary care. That is the tendency of most schools, however, and I think it is good for the students and great for the profession/society.

is there a way to find out about residency match lists?

Is that because FL is one of the 5 states that requires an internship??

i've seen some schools list all their matches...which is really nice, but i cant seem to find anything detailed for AZCOM or CCOM?? All they list is the hospitals that grads have gotten residencies at...which is nice and all...but doesnt mean much if they're not that competitive

Go to the faq at the top of the pre-osteo forum and in there is a link under the phrase 'match list for x school,' which has basically all the match lists you can find for DO schools on SDN. I am also very certain that AZCOM and CCOM are both on there(Sorry for not just posting the link ... being lazy).
