Hello,
I need some help in finding schools that offer Biochemistry I during the summer after July 5 (most likely would be summer session II). Anywhere in the country would be great.

I know about Stony Brook in NY, but that's it.

If you know of any others, please let me know. Thank you.

do you know if this would satisfy most medical school's prerequisite for biochemistry? i know that JABSOM in hawaii doesn't accept the very basic biochemistry course offered.

thanks for the info though, i'll look into it.

Hawaii's requirements have shifted fairly significantly every year for the last 3 years I've been watching. First they required biochem with lab, then molecular/cell bio, now biochem again. Might want to give them a call. Also I hope you're from Hawaii because they only take ~6 non-islanders. Also they're PBL, make sure you can stand it.

In other words, I wanted to go there and won't get to.😍

Univ of Minnesota has a good online class BIOC3021.

Thanks for the heads up ... according to their website, both cmb and biochem without lab are required. And luckily I am from Hawaii. I was talking to a tutor at JABSOM, and PBL is supposedly great because there are not too many exams. Sounds good to me!

Many schools offer it - around here I know Upenn and Villanova offer it.

I don't know if this has changed, but up to a couple of years ago Bryn Mawr post bac program offered biochem during the second summer session. I don't know if they take people who are not a part of the program.

UCSD offers metabolic biochem during summer session II. Take it with Scheffler if possible...he's awesome!

SFSU usually offers it Mid June to mid July.
That's where I took it and JABSOM was fine with it.

Also, a friend took it through the UC Berkeley extension program to satisfy a USC requirement.

i took it at uc berkeley summer school. they also have a uc extension class thats good, and sfsu has one thats more low key. the bay area has tons of biochem! [yew, did i really just say that?]

UNECOM offers an online Biochemistry course

I'm still trying to find a school that offers Biochemistry during the SECOND session (start date after July 7).

I already have UC Santa Cruz and Stony Brook in NY, but they both don't accommodate my need to take Biology lab 2 as well.

If you've come across any information, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
