Which schools require calc-based physics?

I'm about to take Physics in the summer and I'm leaning towards algebra-based since it's what on MCAT, but before I take it, I wanna make sure that schools that I want don't require calc physics, so does anyone know list of schools that require calc-based physics?

The only school that I know of that requires it is Harvard--and that is only for the HST program. And they require it only before matriculation--not to apply.

almost no schools do, in my experience.
on the one hand physics is, in fact, calc-based... taking physics without calc is like taking orgo without arrows or biology without recognizing "cells." on the other hand, the MCAT has non-calc-based physics and non-calc phys courses are probably better prep for the exam. for most people, it's probably "safer" gradewise and better MCAT prep to go non-calc, even though it's slightly dishonest to the field.

I don't know dude. At my school the physics profs destroyed the classes taking trig based, and high fived the calc based pupils. (They hated the pre-med mentality). I wasn't even a pre-med when I took physics 1&2 though. I don't know how "safe" it is unless you do it at a community college.

BTW, I totally agree that physics and calc are inseperable. A little known physicist named Newton developed all these laws and stuff, and the only way he could make any sense of it all was to create a new type of mathomatics. Yes, calculus. Calculus was invented specifically for physics. Sorry

ok I have new question but it's kinda related:
which schools require 1 full year of calculus?

I know that most schools just require 1 year of college math(i.e stats+calc), but some schools require 1 year of calc including multivariable, anyone know which ones?

Go pick up a copy of the MSAR, or if you don't want to buy it, or another similar book, go to your local bookstore's reference section and flip through one. You premed office should have copies of the MSAR, or similar books, too. You'll find your answers there.

If normal MD, I don't think any. I can speak for Penn, WashU, Duke, Baylor, UMich, UPitt, and Emory, and know for a fact that none of them do (and don't believe any others do).

Order the MSAR, it'll answer most of your questions regarding which medical school requires which courses, admittance information, etc.
