Which schools should I add/remove?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This mostly seems like a good mix of schools that are a match for your stats. Why are you applying to so many institutions that are so far out of your region? For example, why Minnesota, Chicago, and Indiana?

I'd remove UCLA mainly because of your residency - your stats are fine for the school but the fact you're in FL and UCLA isn't that OOS friendly makes me think you'd need something to really stand out. Then I'd take off BU because I always hear bad things about it. Since you have such a large list I'd have an easy time eliminating schools I wouldn't want to attend simply based on location, but I'll leave that to you to decide. Don't want to offend anyone 😛

Remove OHSU, you pretty much have zero chance getting in there because you are from Florida-they really only take in-state and from the western states. Rutgers likes in-state and surrounding states as well. Colorado is also very hard for out of state students not from nearby states. Southern Illinois doesn't really take out of state student either. Indiana is also difficult for out of state students. Stony Brook is not OOS friendly. I'm sure I missed others that are not good for OOS. I'd suggest getting the 2015 ADEA guide and double check the stats for the other schools and how they look upon FL residents for acceptance.

Take off SIU as well as Chicago! They take almost exclusively Illinois residents.

Remove LSU, only 4-5 spots for OOS students.

I'm trying to narrow down this list to about 15 schools so I definitely have to remove quite a few. I was also wondering if there are any other schools I should consider. Any advice would be appreciated!

Schools:
1. UF
2. NOVA
4. UMich
5. Maryland
6. Tufts
10. UPenn
11. UCLA
13. OSU
14. UPitt
15. Rutgers
16. NYU
17. Minnesota
20. VCU
21. BU
25. Indiana

add lecom and UoP.
id for sure remove uconn, unc, ucla, ucsf, chicago, SIU, LSU, stony brook, buffalo, oregon.
you have a good chance at getting accepted to all your state schools so in my opinion you don't need to apply to that many schools.
maybe consider removing schools like indiana, ohio, mich, minnesota. being from florida can you honestly picture yourself living this far north??

Actually someone corrected this notion just a few days ago. Search the threads and you should find it. OP, if you really think you'd want to go to OHSU if accepted, then apply.

I wouldn't mind relocating somewhere in the north or west.

I actually could, I've got family up north and was born there so I think it'd be a nice change.

Not really. If you read the post, most of his assumptions are just that. Your data in that thread supports what everyone else has said more than that poster's information. His claim is that they process applications slowly so people accept other offers but I'm pretty sure that they process their applications well before December 1st just like every other school.

Thanks for your help. Could you elaborate on what bad things you've heard about BU?
