International Student
Undergraduate GPA: cumulative --> 3.3; science --> 3.1 (Very poor final semester --> 2.3 with 5 courses; due to personal issues)
Post-baccalaureate GPA: 4.0 (more A+s than As); will end up taking 15 courses (almost 2 years worth of classes)
Overall cGPA: 3.5 (including post-bacc)
MCAT: balanced 518 (taken before post-bacc)
ECs: research tech (no publications), hospital volunteer, clinical associate, resident assistant, student government, etc.

I discovered my passion for medicine late in life. It also took me a long time to cultivate good study habits. I've been doing my best to make amends and I'm hoping that some adcoms will be willing to give me an opportunity.

I guess I'll just have to apply broadly and hope that someone is willing to take a chance on me. Thank you for the insight. More opinions/suggestions are always appreciated.

Would @gyngyn like to chime in?

Buy MSAR.
Identify the 50 or so schools that consider internationals.
Eliminate the mission-based schools, unless you fit the mission (Loma Linda, HBCU's, regional missions).
Eliminate the ones that matriculated fewer than 3.
Apply to the rest.

Thank you! How do adcoms view internationals who have reinvented themselves? I imagine that it's a pretty small sample size...
