Which Schools Track?

None of the ones I applied to did....which ones do?

Thanks

UGA does. Which I'm not too happy about. I'd prefer the non-tracking program I think. It seems like in programs that track those that choose mixed animal get the left overs. May not be true everywhere, but that's what I've heard and as of right now I'm not sure if I want to do small or large. I like them both! But we'll see I suppose. Don't know about other schools, I know Auburn, Tennessee, and Michigan don't.

Minnesota and Davis do also

I know for sure that Cornell does track and I am pretty sure that U. Penn does as well. Tufts does not "track" per say, although they encourage you to focus with one of their signature programs (equine sports medicine, wildlife, international veterinary medicine, etc.). I'm not sure about other schools, but it seems as though many schools that do not overtly track still coax you to focus somewhat by requiring so many elective hours that you can take in subjects of your discretion.

VA-MD does begining in year 2.

Good point. I actually do not think that very many schools, if any, require you to pick your track before year two and at some schools is is even later than that as you can wait until you start your clinical rotations. The schools that do track assume that you should have a pretty good idea of what area of vet med you want to go into by then so it is their way of letting you "specialize" a little bit without having to necessarily go on to do an internship or residency.

I think it depends on your definition of 'track' bc ncsu does pretty specific tracks (exotic...) while csu (i think) just does large/small.
