Hey, anyone knows which schools will interview their applicants before the applicants' files are complete (before LOR sent.. etc)?
Vanderbilt has the pre-secondary interview invite, as well. I didn't know any schools would invite before secondary completion, so let's hear some more if people know of them.
TTT for me as well.
I am in a bad spot with a letter of rec. I asked my orgo professor (and premed advisor) if he would feel comfortable writing a strong letter for me last January. He said "absolutely." He also told a few stories about having to pester for it. One student tied the door to his office shut (he found this funny), another put his e-mail on NAMBLA's mailing list (this he did not find funny).
He also actually walked out with me after the final (I was the last one done) and thanked me for taking the class and told me I was one of his best students ever. I was really looking forward to this letter.
I made numerous requests for the letter throughout the school year. He never did it and then the dude vanished to Europe for the summer. I've been harassing him for it every day since he's gotten back (he actually asked me to send an e-mail each day).
It is now 9 months later (I could have had a baby) and I still don't have it. It's just pissing me off like hell because I rushed and took the June MCAT specifically to avoid being late. It's now friggin September, and I still do not have this letter in hand.
I'm going to give him until Monday and then use another letter.
Ya.. Let's hear some more if people know of them...

Duke doesn't want your letters until they invite you for an interview.
Oh yeah, UNC said for us NOT to send our letters until after the interview invite...
