I am curious more than anything, but I know some schools will prioritize second time applicants, assuming they improve, over mediocre first time applicants.

What schools have you guys heard about that do this?

I talked to a dentist in residency who said that Minnesota gives preference to strong second time applicants.

You're not going to MWU-IL anymo'?

I'm still going to Midwestern! I just had a few friends who had good applications, but for whatever reason weren't selected this cycle so they're applying again. I'm trying to convince them that if they go to MWU Il next year we'll probably be 3rd and 4th year clinical partners.

I hope Mwu favors reaps! I interviewed there last year and got rejected....This may sound bad but I honestly don't know how though. This was the best interview I've ever had in my life, and I've any job, scholarship, etc I've ever interviewed for I got the position. I can't decide if I should reapply there or try somewhere else.

What's your stat?

Stats or state?

Stats, if interview went as well as you say, you probably got rejected because of your stats or a red flag in your app. Midwestern is among the easier schools to get in, so I would still apply there since you are reapplying.

Why would they interview me then? Sorry didn't mean to sound rude but if they interviewed me knowingly they'd reject me cause stats I'd be pissed! Anyways 19 overall 21 pat. Basically 20s across the board. Also have a. 3.6 because I made a 1.7 spring sophomore year. I'd have a 3.8 if it wasn't for that.

And I'm from Arkansas and we don't have a dschool. So I'm competeting against other ark residents

They interview people simply because your stats warrant further interest. Your academics matter a lot even after you get the interview and after the interview you still compete with other interviewees based largely on your stats for the class spots. I would guess that while your interview went well, your stats weren't good enough to beat other interviewees. I strongly suggest retaking the DAT.

Not sure if that is entirely true because I do have lower stats. 18 AA, 19 PAT, 3.52 GPA.
