Which size messenger bag????

Hey, everyone. I'll be starting dental school tomorrow at NYU and my wife really wants to get me one of these leather messenger bags (either 13" x 10" x 5" OR 18" x 13" x 5").

My dilemma is deciding which size would be best. My laptop will fit in either, and I have a backpack already so I'm thinking the smaller bag and then just using one or the other depending on workload, etc. I really don't like carrying a lot of stuff if I don't have to.

What do you folks think?

I personally like the 18in one more.

I mean honestly, you don't need to bring much more than your laptop, and MAYBE a folder of notes or something to study. And whatever personal items you need for the day.

You'll also probably find that you're going to stop attending classes sometime around mid-October unless they're mandatory, so keep that in mind too.
