Which SMP is right for me?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Cincy gtown and boston are true smps, I don't recognize those other acronyms but it seems like they are other types of post-baccs, yes?

In that case your first decision is if you want to do

(A) a real Special Masters Program, which is generally more rigorous, more expensive, and comes with more risk but also a better chance at overcoming a poor GPA.

or

(B) some other official but non-SMP postbacc

or

(C) an unstructured Do It Yourself "postbacc" at your own college. This is probably the cheapest and easiest option. It consists of just taking more classes as you see fit. You're only a junior, which means you can still bring it up quite a bit if you ace the year and a half you have left. Tack another year on and hey, you can get a quite respectable GPA.

Think of it as a choose your adventure novel.

I feel like it might not still be too late for you to work towards getting into med school without an SMP. First of all are you considering DO programs as well? You have some good extracurriculars, and also I think you would have a good chance at a good mcat score, so really the only major issue is GPA. You have 1 1/2 years to correct that. Also if you were open to osteopathic schools you could retake classes you did poorly in and get rid of your low grades which would improve your gpa more rapidly. Also you could delay graduation by a year and take a ton of elective upper division science courses to raise your gpa further.
