i'm trying to decide between the littman cardio III and the littman master cardiology stethoscope. i've found both of them on-line for great deals with the master cardio only being $10 more. littman gives the master cardio a 10 on a 1-10 scale with the cardio III getting a 9.

i went down to a med supply store and tested both out and i thought they were equally clear and much better than my cheapo i had as an EMT. what do you guys think of these two scopes? advantages, disadvantages, etc. i contemplated not even getting one and sticking with my $20 scope but physicians i've talked to said go ahead and get a good one now because it should last me quite a while.

i'm sure a bunch of you have these scopes. so what do you think? anybody have the chance to compare them to one another. thanks.

I think the majority of people use both of these. As far as distinct pros and cons to each, I really don't know of any. At my school, most students buy the cardio III, which is what I bought. I don't know enough to know what I'm hearing, so all I can say is that yeah, I hear heartbeats and breath sounds with it. LOL.

Have you tried doing a search on this topic? I remember this topic being discussed at length in the past. Perhaps that can give you some insight.
