Which SUNY schools accept OOSers? If they do, do they accept a large amount or is their preference for NY residents? THANKS!

SUNY Upstate has no preference for instaters over OOS. Heck, they even accept foreign students. Hope this helps:luck:

lol...thanks! What about the others? Also, what distinguishes the schools from each other?

SUNY Buffalo definitely prefers NY residents, So does Downstate, not sure about Stonybrook. I suggest that you check their websites to be sure🙂

I looked up if Stony Brook has no preference and got this:

From princeton review.."With the exception of M.S.T.P. applicants, New York residency is virtually a requirement. "

From Stony Brook's site..."The majority of Stony Brook's applicants are residents of New York, however, out-of-state applicants are encouraged to apply."

Are they just trying to say that to rip me off or do they actually consider OOSers?

Yea, I think I wasted money by applying to the SUNY schools as a PA resident.

SUNY Downstate accepts a good number of OOSers. I'm from CA and I've got an interview with them coming up. Plus, they're in Brooklyn. What's not to like?

Thanks for the all the facts!! I guess I won't submit to stony brook but I will for Buf. Thanks again!

matriculate does not = amount that was offered acceptances.
