MPH wouldn't help. M.S. in oral biology could. Can anyone suggest me what should I do to cover up my low gpa? Should I do a master of public health or master in oral biology or any relevant pieces of information would be helpful. Thanks
Any univ suggestion would be helpful? Does it require GRE?MPH wouldn't help. M.S. in oral biology could.
Please say more on the reasons why mph won’t help. ThanksMPH wouldn't help. M.S. in oral biology could.
MPH is an easy program. You can finish it by two years while some students are able to finish it within one year. You will find you have paid at least 50k and learnt nothing after two years. Not even do a study. Please say more on the reasons why mph won’t help. Thanks
So you mean mph really got no much prospects after graduation? I see! After MS in OB, can one apply for faculty positions jobs?MPH is an easy program. At least OB is a science subject. You are required to take the basic subjects with those Y-1 dental students. Most international students unwilling to take OB is because they DON'T DARE to compete with domestic students. Even though you have a good looking gpa from your home country, and you pass the two exams within the first attempt, do you really DARE to risk the chances of getting into the IDP if you have a low gpa in the OB program?
For MPH, it is extremely hard to get a job for international F-1. For MS in OB, it is easier to get a temporary teaching position in the school for your OPT period, and what is more important, you are now more qualified to apply for a PhD in the States. With a Master in OB, you have greater chances to apply for IDP and PhD.So you mean mph really got no much prospects after graduation? I see! After MS in OB, can one apply for faculty positions jobs?

Faculty positions are only open for people with a PhD, not Master degree graduates.
Thank you. It was really helpful. My advice is that if you take the master from a university which has its own dental school, chances to get into that dental school is bigger.
Yes, M.S.needs GRE. As for MPH, good programs usually require GRE.
Hi I am an Oral Pathologist from India . I am not keen to do the DDS but work as faculty . Is MS oral biology a good way to go ? or apply directly for a PhDMPH is an easy program. If your profile is good enough (I mean the research background or relevant lab background), then surely to apply for a PhD is more advantageous. MS in OB is for people whose profile is not good enough and willing to pay the tuition on their own (about 40~50k). If you could get an admission from PhD program with a stipend, do not hesitate and go!Hi I am an Oral Pathologist from India . I am not keen to do the DDS but work as faculty .
