hi, i am from argentina. and i have 2 options on where to start my university time. i want to study medicine, but i would also like to move to the US and have a residency there. i have 2 options, UBA (universidad de Buenos Aires) and Universidad Austral. the thing is i don't know which one is better if i want to make it to the US.
Universidad Austral is a private institution with the best of technology and knowledge, also it is the best private university in Argentina. it also gives me the chance to travel for 5 months to many universities in the USA like UPENN for clinical knowledge and get LOR. The thing is that it is on the 400th place in the QS university rankings, which makes me doubt
On the other hand, i have the UBA. which is in the 66 place in the QS university rank. But the university is public and very bad treated ( meaning the building is in very bad shape) they also don't have many new machines. another problem is that it is VERY populated, VERY, which makes some classes impossible to understand well. it also doesnt give me the chance to travel to the USA.
so my main question is how important is the ranking, and how serious should i take it? should i go to the UBA or to the Austral? please any tip could help
