I just took it. They sent an email when I signed up that they were switching to permanent markers (no eraser) and laminate sheets. These changes are currently being made so possible expect to get two fine tip markers and two double-sided laminate sheets of graph paper (great for grid method hole punch). Of course, your center could be different. I am in grand rapids, MI area.
They're the size of a sheet of paper. One side graph paper, one side blank. 2 Fine tip non erasable markers. You shouldn't need to erase it with saliva... you can just use up the board and ask for a new one. Probably saves time. They started this last year when I took the DAT.
oh watt??? i thought these white boards are the same kind that Chad uses on his wall? except that this one is a lot smaller of course.
does anybody have a link to a picture of these laminated sheets? honestly I've been searching but they only showed the sheets used in decorating house or something -_-;;

Reviving a year old thread... For the PAT section, are we supposed to draw all our grids for hole-punches and cube counting on only 2 sheets??
the security was insane at my place (the xray scanner, three or four ppl walking around you during the exam, they have cameras with two or three difference angles of ur desk area. etc etc)
i took my test yesterday and they. gave me this grid laminate paper and unerasable marker. when i needed more ppaper i ha to wave it in the air (like i just dont care~) and they would bring me another copy of the paper and take my used ones. it takes like 5 mins to get their attention though 😡 so mad about that
When I took the DAT in Sep last year they took FOREVER trying to swtich out my whiteboard, since I was running out of time I had to erase with my saliva. I even used my sweating palms to erase.
Advice: dont use a lot of space on the white board work on corners. Practice this at home.
I feel like if they arent going to give us erasers and just give permanent markers, they might as well give out 4 white board sheets per section and have someone come every 40 mins to switch out.

Ok what? My Hole Punching method depends on having a single grid that I mark with holes and erase with each new problem?!
If we're using permanent markers then we'll have to make up 15 grids for that section?
how much time do we have in between the science and PAT section to switch our laminated sheets?
No time! If you finish the science section fast with maybe a min or two to spare you can quickly exchange boards.

Yes, 15 grids.
Also, try to be abundantly clear when you need a new white board. Sometimes they're not paying too much attention.
Does anyone recall how the tests are given?..
I think it was SNS, PAT, 15 min, RC, QR?
Yup. According to the ADEA guide at least.
This is frustrating because if we are given 2 blank sheets, I want to use 1 of them for bio, orgo, and gen chem in the first section. And, if I have no time to exchange sheets before the PAT starts, I am obligated to use 1 sheet (front and back) for 15 hole punch grids and about 5 tally charts for cubes??? Is that possible!?!
So I should be using a sharpee while practicing and not a typical dry earase marker?

Or why not just use a A4 paper with pen?
I *THINK* you can erase it with your saliva.. try it and let me know, haha
another question: Are you allowed to exchange 1 of your laminated sheets for a new one and keep your other laminated sheet w/ hole punch grids, tally charts, etc? Or is it "all or nothing" (must exchange both sheets at once)??
