Just came across this writing from a few days ago... Why Your Doctor’s White Coat Can Be a Threat to Your Health
I work in a country where white coats were banned a long time ago, and many believe it was a political decision to downgrade doctors... I personally miss my white coat and when I had it I used to change it every day.
Some people have problems with the sleeve length, others with the whiteness. The reality is that it's absolutely disgusting with the same clothes you have been in public, to be running on the wards, and then outside of the hospital to spread the same germs back in the public.
A white coat is likely to be laundered at a high temperature, whereas with regular clothes this would not always be the case.
