I have a question for anyone that might be able to help...

I'm starting 3rd year in July, and I'd like to purchase a med-student-length COTTON (or other breathable fabric) white coat before then (if such a thing exists). My school's bookstore only carries the same stifling polyester that we got handed out at the white coat ceremony.

I really can't sew, so that's not an option.

Anyone know where I can buy one? 😀

Just remember that the higher the cotton content, the more it will wrinkle.

And the more it will wrinkle, the more patiens might realise that YOU ARE WORKING WAY TO HARD because you don't have any time left to iron your coat. 😀

cotton? poly? Does it really make a difference? If it's too hot, don't wear the coat. All you need to carry around is a stethescope and a pocket PC, so why bother with the coat?

Because at many hospitals, students are REQUIRED to wear the coat while on rotations. This is the case at our school. Perhaps it is different at yours?

Thanks, Stinky😉 !

Yup, we are required to wear our coats on all rotations but peds.
