Should I fold the white collar of my shirt over my black jacket collar or will it look tacky?
Is there "an interview rule" that advises against it?
Thanks!

Male--no way, have your collar buttoned down inside your jacket
Female--depends on the jacket and shirt

The question here is not if you like that look or not - the question is if your interviewers will like it.

Collar out: Interviewers might not care, or they might dislike it - potential for negative influence with this option
Collar in: Interviewers will likely not care - no potential for negative influence

Just my $0.02 🙂

YOU GUYS!!! I've decided! I just found a pic of the Dean of Admissions with her collar out. She always looks fab, so I'm also going to have it out! LOL  I think I look better that way too.

Just remember that the dean of admissions is not being interviewed...

Regardless, good luck! 🙂

Resourceful.

For women, it really can go either way and if you are more comfortable with your collar out, you won't be picking at it during your interview. Men always need their collar in, sorry guys.
