Whites are actually a minority in the world...I like this idea of a group dedicated to white predentals...count me in! Wait, I'm already accepted!

In 2025 being "white" in the USA will make you a minority. Atleast thats what the US census is predicting.
What pisses me off is I had a patient today, 8 years old, born in USA, and barely speaks a word of English.
I asked how he does in school. He said they have special classes for him/others that teach in spanish so he does good in school...wtf!?!?!?!? Hello man, last time I checked the offical lang. here is english. I have nothing againist foreign lang, since my grandparents don't speak a word of english. My parents have the thickest accents, but got damn atleast they tried and did learn english.

I support learning English as not being able to speak or write well puts you at a tremendous disadvantage for life. However, as an immigrant who had to learn English, I can definitely sympathize on how difficult it is and how down right impossible if there are inadequate support resources to facilitate the learning of the language.

Good times. What else do white people really have in common anyway? I guess I would like to know the origin of the term "Caucasian." I think it is wierd and degrading and has nothing to do with what I am. I propose we try to make up a new, more appropriate euphemism for "white." I don't believe people should have to learn English, but it will help you get by in general. No one should be forced to learn a language they don't want to though.

hey, i'm white too. except for a few moles... but i think i qualify for this club. i don't really care what langauge someone can or can't speak, but when a school asks for your race and gender do they really just want to know "for research purposes"? i get the feeling that there's more to it, but i don't have any hard evidence. this might be a whole new can of worms and i know most people won't feel comfortable talking about it, but i think there should be more honesty from schools about what types of people they're looking for and how many of each... but then that would make it illegal.

If you are in a country where english is the standard means of communication by the majority of the population and as well as the majority of the modern industrial world, LEARN ENGLISH Please.

contrary to popular belief here, most people do try to learn english when they live here. but there will always be people who just doesnt have the resource or the time learning a whole new language and there will always be people who just freshly immigrated here. i'm sure during your lifetime you'll continue to come across them.
it's human nature to be apprehensive and guarded towards something that does not resemble yourself.
what's sad is everyone view these non-english speaking people as monolithic group who's too ignorant to learn something, too ignorant to assimilate, and too ignorant to change their culture. each individual has his/her own story. maybe he can't learn a new language because he has a learning problem. she learned english because she came to US when she was 7 while her parents are having hard time because they are old and learning takes serious time. unless you happen to know every single one of them, you can't label all of them into a category. of course, this goes with every topic concerning stereotype.
