Who can make a poll

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was wondering how polls are made because I have a question I was wondering about and thought a poll would be perfect....

Good question, I was wondering why I never saw any polls on this forum. I thought it was because the forum administrators disabled the poll option. Actually, I think it would be fun to see a few polls now and then.

I've seen a lot of polls on other (v-Bulletin) sites. It's easy to create one, if the option were available. You'd go to the "additional options" window when posting the thread, and put a checkmark in the box that asks "Yes, post a poll with this thread" and then proceed to fill in the choices, etc.

I'd be happy to be one of the first to vote in your poll, once you get it posted. 🙂

PS - to bananaface, thanks for the reply, I never even knew the poll option existed!

Singling out is not a TOS violation in and of itself. For example, you could single someone out in a "Happy Birthday" thread on their b-day and that would be just fine.

Starting a new thread that calls someone out, attacks them, or encourages others to bash them is grounds for removal. A poll being attached to a thread is irrelevant to whether or not there is an underlying TOS violation. Intention, not format, is the issue. The purpose behind this rule is to allow users to post here without feeling intimidated or harassed.

I dunno. If you had a positive experience with my employer and a gazillion people set out to demonize them, would you not try to balance the perspectives? Yes, Old Timer shares positive things about his experience with CVS over and over. But, other people say negative things about CVS over and over. The only definite conclusion that I can reach is that we talk about CVS alot on this forum. Personally, I think alot of the things he mentions about management apply across the chains so while they may be in the context of CVS, they have a wider application. Alot of those conversations could be steered on a broader course, but a few people always seem to chime in and bring it back to an I hate CVS rant.
