I think it basically implies normal, no infiltrating process. I don't really know why it's that important for grossing though in addition to everything else you do. It might be important for urologists doing small biopsies for infertility.
Srsly? I woulda thought trying to string a testicular biopsy in the gross room would totally wreck the tissue. I've only ever done it for autopsies and orchiectomies where the whole testis isn't taken over by some goomba.
