who does better in verbal than in science?!

ughh, that would be me!! i get a 9 in VR, and stinky rotten 6 in PS. whoever said VR was the most important better be on the adcom at NYCOM or i am screwed...

just needed to vent really.

here here. 9 on verbal and 7's on the others...i should have been a damn english major. heres hoping LECOM- bradenton wont bluntly reject me

Me.
My practice verbal sections are all 11's, 12's, etc
whereas my Bio + Physics hang around 8 or 9
I find that science sections sometimes word sentences in an unnecessarily-complex manner: "Do you reject the notion of a miscalculation based upon the false positive result?"
you can untangle that but why is it necessary?
 
I'm the opposite, I got a 10 is PS and 8 in VR. 🙁

my practice tests were 11's 12's, but when I got my actual passages in my MCAT, I was like, WTF?!?!?
 
My VR was higher too 10 VR, 7 BS, and (gulp) 6 PS😍
 
you know, i think having a solid verbal score is a great accomplishment. verbal is a hard section for a lot of premeds (myself included) especially under the stress of the actual test. you guys should be proud of yourselves. 🙂

I'm part of your club. I also got a 9 in VR, but a lousy 7 in PS. I redeemed myself through BS with a 12. Darn it. I knew I should have studied mechanics a whole lot more more than I did. I was expecting a totally different PS section, one that actually had a better balance of general chemistry and other facets of physics, like electromagnetism, etc.
 
I got an 11 11 11 L - apparently I am really good verbally and i really suck verbally!

Nice score, watch out for UNECOM if you apply there. They have a minimum writing score.

General: A lower score in a component group will not blow your chances of getting in as long as the rest of your application is sound. You may have to explain the discrepancy during the interview though. Best of luck everyone!
 
same boat here 7P 7B 12V N, but i'm in the class of '11 so who cares anyway🙂
 
My verbal was higher than each section by 3 points..crazy I tell you😕
 
I had a 14 VR and 8's on both sciences. Try explaining that one 😕

Are you having any luck with interviews? I only have one, and it really isn't that fabulous because it is my state school, and they interview all In-staters with an MCAT above 24 and 3.2 gpa. I'm starting to flip out.
 
well you guys certainly made me feel better, even though your some of you science sections are stronger than mine!

RARRRR to the mcat. i'm just glad its over, and hopefully i wont need to retake....
 
yup 10 for verbal, 8,8 for the others... i hope its enough... cuz im not taking it again.
 
10 V, 7 PS, 8 BS. I really hate physics now.
 
11V,8B,8P: My theory is you can't really study for verbal reasoning, but you obviously can study for the science sections. So........this would be an indicator that my study habits are quite bad!!!!!!!!!!

me either! i studied like a fooooooooooool. i dont know what happened...well bad time management on BS, but PS seemed good...oh well, all over now!

applied to 20 allopathic schools and no interviews. my AMCOMAS is still being processed so i should know about DO schools in a few weeks. Got my fingers crossed for us! :luck:
 
My discrepancy was also ridiculous - 11 VR, 8 BS, 5 (!!!) PS, R. Luckily at least five schools are attempting to look past the ridiculousness.
 
11V10P10B, 31O All of the essays on my verbal section were enjoyable and interesting to read, which i think helped a lot.
