okay so i dont know if its just me, but all this talk about how your screwed if you dont have interviews yet is freaking me out. i mean ive busted my ass off in undergrad, have a high gpa and good DAT scores....but i submitted my application in july to aadsas...which i didnt think was late...but now im not sure. ive started hearing back from schools sayign theyve received my application and that my application is under review but that just happened today so im still waiting to hear back about interveiws. is anyone freaking out too?? i honestly didnt think i would have that much trouble getting in butt now im not sure! anyone in a similar postion?

Everyone has the same chance of getting in before December 1st, no matter when your interview is. It's after first offers of acceptance when the class starts to fill and they start to interview for alternate lists at most schools. I wouldn't worry. A lot of schools just started reviewing applications after the long weekend and getting the new students settled.

do u mean if we get interview invite before december it is ok?
For me with case I got interview last week but it is booked through feb...
Hmm... Does that mean there is not much chance for me right?

I am with you, no interviews here. Schools just got my DAT scores yesterday so I probably shouldn't panic but I feel it. Like most here, I worked my ass off for a long time to put together a good application. It is tough to "trust" that schools will be able to see me for the good candidate that I think I am.

Not necessarily. Some schools don't complete their class until February or even later. At some schools the alternate list interviews start around February. For others, it is later. I wish I knew the timeline for every school I've applied to. This is only my assumption based on what I have heard from other people and have had friends go through. Just because you have an interview in February, doesn't mean you don't have a chance, especially at a place like Case who gets so many applicants and interviews so few. I would expect that since they are booked into February, that they won't fill their class until after those interviews are complete. I'm sorry if I gave you the assumption that you don't stand a chance at Case. You stand a better chance than I do. My application is on "hold" status at Case. Also, I know we all have our dream school, and if we all got in, what a perfect world it would be. Don't freak out about not having interviews or not having one to your top choice right now. If you really want to be a dentist, you will go anywhere. And besides, it's still early in the game. Majority of the people getting interviews right now are those who went out in the June/July mailings. Good luck 🙂

None for me either. Mailed out early august. I just got a letter from Penn saying my application was complete. So hopefully in another few weeks, we'll all have something. I don't think there is a reason to worry at this point.

hi!! thansk for all the responses.... this is really a stressful time!! but i called case today adn they told me that my application was complete and they will get back to me in a week or two...adn she also said that if they do invite me for an interview it will still be for the main class and not that alternate list......even though the interveiw wont be until feburary... so those who just scheduled your interviews and case or havent heard back yet ..it doesnt mean you wont be getting into case!!! i also spoke with u of m today and they said they havent even started to invite people for interviews...so thats good news!!! whoo oo!

A lot of schools haven't even sent interview invites yet. But the best ways to get an idea of what schools have sent them out are 1) call them and ask them or 2) check this thread out to see what schools are currently giving invites out.
