Congrats! I am not done yet. But everything is done. I am waiting for 2 things. 1. For my summer courses to be done. 2. For an actual denial from Creighton before I spend the money to reapply.

am I the only one that E-Submit my application first?

I will E-summit my pharmacas app soon

I think i'm going to submit by september first, need to revise my PS and get 2 more recs, exciting but scary wouldn't u agree :scared:

Nervous, but in a good way. 😉

I've finished everything -- securing recommendations, personal statement, etc. -- but want to wait until my PCAT score comes back from June before submitting. When should we actually pay PharmCAS -- now or after we submit?

Why would you want to pay them now? =P

submit ur application right away ...first come first serve...do not delay

Ok I am confused with all the schools having different deadlines and PharmCAS with its own deadline. When is the "appropriate" time to submit PharmCAS? Do most schools have a rolling admissions policy? I can't find the info on the web. I know one of the schools I am applying to does NOT have rolling admissions, but it doesn't use PharmCAS either.

I am done with my applications!!!!!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 It feels great!! 👍 I unfortunately have not had the opportunity to go out and celebrate yet, but I finished my PharmCAS application (waiting on two LOR, transcripts to arrive, and rest of the courses to be finished). Also, I am done with the two supplimental applications that needed to be done for the two schools that I am applying to right now. I mailed one out on Monday (faster delivery service) and I am mailing the other one out tomorrow (if there is no rain to stop me). All I have left is to finish my application for WICHE, then it will just become a long period of waiting.... and waiting... and waiting!

I submitted my Pharmcas on Sunday morning. I still have one person who hasn't sent their LOR in yet, but mostly I'm done!

I'm doing Early Decision at Kentucky, so I want them to have everything in hand when they start reviewing in early September.

I have a question though. I have my summer coursework listed as "in progress" on Pharmcas. I don't think I can go back and put in the grades until sometime in the fall (academic update window? sound familiar?) so how does UK know that I got A's in organic chemistry this summer? Should I send them a grade report? I really want them to know...

hey we can submit our pharmcas application before we get all the letter of reccomendation? does that mean the schoools will review the application without the letter of reccomendation?

how many letter of recommendation did you get?

is it bad if i send in my application, but dont have my LORs get in till maybe 2-3 weeks after i submitted my application? will it affect when my application gets viewed?

Once you finish your semester (know your grades), you're supposed to change it on PharmCAS and send PharmCAS a transcript, that way, they can let the school's know your grades.

you cannot change it on PharmCAS when Academic Update is not even load yet....

Word of advice: make sure your transcripts are sent to the new PharmCAS P.O. Box. I've had to go through the headache of resending an official transcript, because PharmCAS didn't receive the one my university sent to their old address. Once that bad boy is marked as received, I'm submitting.

I asked the PharmCAS John, he said it is okay if u send to the old address, they will still received it 😍 😍

Can you E-submit before all transcripts are received? I thought you could.

yes you can submit your application before or after your transcripts are received.

i asked this earlier in this thread and hate to double post, but is it bad to submit your pharmcas even though you wont get your letter of recs to complete it for maybe up to a month?

i heard from a friend that schools will start looking at your app even though it isnt complete. my gpa and pcat scores are alright i guess, but i just want to have my app looked at early in the process so that i have a better chance of getting in

I've been holding back on submitting for the same reason you're wondering about. I'm waiting on a key LOR from my chem professor to be submitted, my June PCAT score to show up on my PharmCAS app, and my official transcript to be marked as received as well by PharmCAS. I have everything on my application done and my schools of choice selected. Should I just submit now and not worry so much about these missing materials not being there yet or should I continue to wait until everything is received?

That's why you wait until AFTER your summer grades are in BEFORE e-submitting. Now you will have to wait until the academic update in December/January to update those grades. 🙁

You both should go ahead and e-submit, as long as you are not taking summer classes or as long as your grades are posted if you took classes this summer. You want to give yourself as much advantage as you can. Don't wait on anything else. Submit and pay the fees for each school. 🙂

Thanks, FutureRxGal! I'll review everything tonight and submit it first thing tomorrow afternoon. 🙂

I thought of doing that, but my summer grades won't be in until a few weeks before the early decision deadline. Class doesn't end until the 5th and the profs have a week to turn in grades.

UK told me to get my stuff in early enough to be verified BEFORE September 1, so I felt like I had to submit before the end of July. Of course Pharmcas took less than a week to verify, and not the 5 weeks they said it would take.

It's a no win situation.

By the time I can add those grades (academic update), I hope to be already admitted. Do you think that not having grades listed for organic will keep me from being admitted Early Decision? I can take my grade report to the interview, assuming I am invited to interview.

Frustrating! 😡

Probably not. If you have a solid GPA, then it probably won't matter. Like you said, you could always take an official transcript with you to the interview, or you could call UK and ask them if there's a way they could update your GPA with an official transcript.

If I were you i would try and send the school an official transcript with the organic grades on it and an explanation as to why you are sending them in in that manner. maybe even go in to talk to someone about it if you are close enough to the school

they would probably be impressed with the effort and interest....

they really take an interest what you got in o chem. someone at auburn told me they can look at the o chem I grade and get a good idea of who has what it takes for pharm school and who doesn't

E-submitted just now. Now it's on to conquering supplemental applications... 🙂

If I submit my Pharmcas app. today is it still considered "early"? Or is it pretty late in the app. cycle already?

it's not late at all! late is like submitting it in late-oct

Really? Good to know! Thanks!!

when is the LATESt you can submit your letters of recomendation??

i am trying to get good references (pharmacy ones) rite now that's why i wanna get some time wiht them before i ask them to write anything!

Just e-submitted...now I'm on my way to the post office to send off my supplemental.

Class of 2010, here I come!!

Anyone know if PharmCAS shows every school you've applied to the other schools you've also applied to?... Anyone know if applying to a lot of schools could potentially hurt your chances? Do your schools have any way of knowing how many other schools you've applied to while they are reviewing the application? Just curious.

I'm not sure but some schools ask you on the supplemental to list the other schools to which you are applying. Personally, I think it looks better to apply to several schools. It appears that you are determined to attend pharmacy school and are open to going anywhere in order to acheive your goal. I doubt any admissions committee could hold that against you. In fact, it might seem a little arrogant to apply to just one school.
Good luck and just apply to as many schools as you can afford to. In my case, that's 10. 🙂

i submitted my pharmcas on Aug 29th,2005. I submitted my supplementals to the schoools i applied to on september 1st. A couple of my schools have received my supplementals and have said my file is incomplete because they have not received my pharmcas application yet. Is anyone in the same situation I am? If i had known, i would have submitted my pharmcas application a month in advance before i submitted my supplementals. But i thought they would be process about the same time if i submitted them in close proximity. ahhh what a bad choice of judgement.

You may want to go to PharmCas, log in and then check under Status, then select Designations. It will say "Printout mailed 'date'" next to each designation. In my case, I submitted PharmCas in mid-August (18th or 19th) and the printout was mailed on August 25th. So check that out.

Relax. They'll set up your file anyway and you'll be good to go. 👍
