Rejected from NYU!! Wahoo! :hardy: But I got my BA at CUNY Queens, so I don't think my experience is typical. 😎

I don't have much experiences either. Do you mind sharing your stats?

thanks, fruity. I'm just really worried right now. I'm planning to send my applications out, but still can't decide which schools to apply to. I have low gpa (cum 3.13, sci 2.77). [I used to post a thread asking opinions about my scores and many people suggested me to try post-bac or else I have to do extremely well on my DAT--I didn't take DAT yet.] And I dont have any recommendation from any extracurricular activities.

Extracurricular activities count a lot in my opinion and from what other people say. And this is obviously after your college GPA and DAT score. Why weren't you involved in extracurricular activities is my question? If you can answer this question without saying that i was being lazy is what you should include in your personal statement and heavily stress on it.
And by the way... waiting for an year and working on your post-bac is not a bad idea at all. If dentistry is what you want to do, then you can take an extra year and come back strong later.
Keep working hard man!

P.S. Somebody called me a nerd a couple days ago and told me that i've lost all the spirit in me, as i turned down their offer to make a surfin trip to huntigton beach. Man was excited or what!!! I deserve this complement of being a nerd after all the studying i've done in the past 2 weeks.
I'm elated. But i'll be truly elated once i get a good score on the DAT.

I do have some extracurricular activities but I think I need more.

I am really interested in who got turned down from NYU. Please share your stats if you don't mind. I just want to some ideas about their admission. Thank you so much.

I wouldn't call you a nerd for turning down huntington beach....Now, if you had ixnayed say, going to ventura, than I would have to second the nerd motion. At any rate, I've been landlocked in Nebraska for four years now as the wife finishes pharmacy school. And, if you can't figure it out, I'm from Ventura 😀 Alright, the next time you get a chance to go surfing. Remember that there are those of us out here in dire need of a wave, and catch one as soon as possible for people like me. I'll cover the books for ya.

Maisuree,
Don't worry too much about extracurricular activities at this point. Focus on DAT!!! If you get 20+ across your DAT, I think you have a good chance of getting an interview from NYU.
