Poll: four college seniors with unique personalities begin medical school this fall. Who is mostly likely to succeed? Multiple selections allowed.
Albert, a quiet type whose huge brain, knack for visualization and abstract thinking, and an uncanny ability to dissect even toughest written exams put him at the top of his class in a rigorous science curriculum in undergrad. He enjoys learning about anything in the natural sciences and learns quickly with high fidelity in retention. He's slightly awkward when it comes to girls and talking to different people in general. He'll teach you how to play panguingue if you want.
Brian, with average smarts but a big personality and genuine will to help people, can make friends with (or at least get along OK with) the grumpiest people. Even if doctors suddenly made zero money but only got food stamps, he would still stay because he's one of the few who's not in it for the lifestyle or cash. He's a bit gullible when it comes to practicalities, though. He's into origami and scherenschnitte.
Chris, who's roughed it since his days in a foster home as a kid, has always had a fierce sort of "bring it" attitude for every challenge he's encountered. His intellect is unremarkable but his determination is red hot, and he isn't afraid to make personal sacrifices to achieve his goals, be it cutting free time for extra studying or sucking up for a higher grade. Sometimes, he turns people off with his constant gunner attitude. His favorite place to hit the books is the backyard cortile.
David, a wise type who always looks both ways before crossing the street. His science and cognitive abilities are average, but he's an excellent planner and strategist, good at setting goals and achieving them with minimal effort. He deals with setbacks well and always has life in perspective, no matter how bad the situation is. Unfortunately, he can't stomach milk at all. Ask him about how savory his yosenabe recipe is instead.
