I am trying to update my Phlebotomy certification, and a friend has referred me to the American Associationn of Clinical Pathologists, saying they are the gold standard, and I have not been able to find any information on them other than doctors saying they are members. So my question comes in two parts: 1: Where would I go to find information on them? 2: Is this the same as the American Society of Clinical Pathology? I appreciate what help you can give me, and do not want to settle for the one I have, which is not helping me any (or any of the other certifications I have through this company).

i've been in pathology for 4 years now, never heard of the American Association of Clinical Pathologists (though I am an AP-only trainee).

Heard of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry -- sounds like you were told a mishmash of that and ASCP. But the question is really about phlebotomy certification, a technical certification, and you'd probably get more information from someone who's done it.

The ASCP web site eventually took me to here:
http://www.ascp.org/Board-of-Certification/International/Certification#tabs-1

Frankly I don't think the website is all that clear and is muddled with numerous different certifications, but it's one place to start.
