Who should I send the thank you cards to?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
From my pov it seems that I can't go wrong with thanking people. But I just don't want to seem like I'm not grateful since I thanked so many people? Who knows lol. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks. 😀

I don't think you can go wrong by sending a short thank you email to everyone that helped you throughout the day.

What about the student group tour leader? He was really nice. I am just worried that the receptionist will get 5 cards and think...well, someone is trying really hard to get in anndd...not in a good way lol.

I would definitely send emails. That way you can show your sincere gratitude without looking desperate or sucking up. I wouldn't worry about sending the student that took you on the tour a thank you letter. If you get in, you can tell him thanks in person🙂.

yeah you are right. I feel like if there is a doubt, I shouldn't do it. Do you think that all cards are desperate and sucking up? Do you think it is at least semi-important to send a card to the interviewers?

Just email your thank you. That's what I did. In my opinion, if you email after the interview, your interviewer will probably remember you way better than getting a card about a week later or more depending how long the mailing gets sorted out at the school. Sure the card is more formal, but in many cases my entire interview session with the faculty was informal anyway.

I emailed, and they replied to me even with stuff they remembered us talking about at the interview (asked if i liked their food recommendations in the area, sites they suggested visiting, etc). It's all up to you but the email route IMHO worked out the best and it did with me.

Often the interviewers meet and score applicants directly following the interview. By the time they get your thank you, they have already put an opinion in on your fate.

You can send me a thank you card 😀
